‘The Mandalorian’ season 2: release date, plot, trailer and everything

When The Mandalorian came to Disney+ last year, it was, arguably, a shock to most how great it was. Sure, there was no doubt that Disney and Lucasfilm would waste no expense in their first true live-action television venture (not to mention a flagship Disney+ streamer) being top notch. Hell, even the Emmys noticed, nominating the show for Best Drama. Now, with all eyes on a second season, The Mandalorian has not just revealed a late October release date, but dropped a Trailer for Season Two. Take a look at the bottom of this post for more of Mando and his little green companion.

“The Mandalorian” Gets An Exciting Season Two Trailer!

For those who aren’t aware, the show follows an unnamed bounty hunter on his adventures across the galaxy. Last season, the Mandalorian (Pedro Pascal) came across The Child (affectionately known as Baby Yoda), and opted to become its protector. This season, that continues, as the plot description from Disney states: “The Mandalorian and the Child continue their journey, facing enemies and rallying allies as they make their way through a dangerous galaxy in the tumultuous era after the collapse of the Galactic Empire. “The Mandalorian” stars Pedro Pascal, Gina Carano, Carl Weathers and Giancarlo Esposito. Directors for the new season include Jon Favreau, Dave Filoni, Bryce Dallas Howard, Rick Famuyiwa, Carl Weathers, Peyton Reed and Robert Rodriguez. Showrunner Jon Favreau serves as executive producer along with Dave Filoni, Kathleen Kennedy and Colin Wilson, with Karen Gilchrist serving as co-executive producer.”

Fans of The Star Wars live-action series have been concerned the show wouldn’t hit its previously announced October release date. The coronavirus pandemic shut down production on a plethora of TV shows and films around the world. But Disney CEO Bob Chapek has reiterated multiple times over the last few months that The Mandalorian was still on schedule, thanks to editing and post-production work that could be done remotely.

The new trailer for Season two of The Mandalorian has been released, which features the titular character and The Child (Baby Yoda) making their journey to return the latter to its home planet.

Not much is revealed about the new season, except that it will feature actors such as Timothy Olyphant, Rosario Dawson as Ahsoka Tano, and Temuera Morrison as Boba Fett, Gina Carano, Carl Weathers and Giancarlo Esposito.

There’s also footage of the Mandalorian (played by Pedro Pascal) ending up taking on a bunch of bad guys who dare to cross their path, while Baby Yoda disappears under the hood of its stroller to avoid getting caught in the crossfire. Creator and showrunner Jon Favreau has also begun work on the third season of The Mandalorian as well, much to the excitement of fans.

The Mandalorian season 2 release date: when are the new episodes landing?

October 30, 2020. Gifting us with a little post-Christmas treat, showrunner Jon Favreau revealed at the end of 2019 that the new series would land in “fall 2020”.

What Did We See in the First Trailer?

he first trailer for Season Two of The Mandalorian, thankfully provided a much-needed outline for what's to come. It seems that Mando is being tasked with linking up Baby Yoda with what's left of the Jedi. And Mando sounds skeptical, as he should be considering how bad relations with the Mandalorian and Jedi have been historically. And, at one point, we see a mysterious robed figure watching Mando and Baby Yoda as a voiceover explains how the Jedi will play into this adventure.
